DANA and floods in Spain: Platforms Response during a Crisis

Report • November 2024

Report assessing the response of TikTok, X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, and Telegram to the disinformation crisis that followed the DANA (the Spanish acronym for depresión aislada en niveles altos, a high-altitude isolated depression), a weather phenomenon that caused severe flooding in Valencia and other eastern regions of Spain on 29 October 2024.

Platform Response to Disinformation during the EU Election 2024

Report • June 2024

Analysis of how major platforms responded to more than 1,300 debunked pieces of content related to the 2024 European elections. The report shows that YouTube and X took little to no action on most of the content, compared to a stronger response from Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, in line with their obligations under the Digital Services Act.
