TikTok Fails to Remove Accounts Involved in Child Sexual Abuse and Allows Children Under 13 in the Platform Despite its Rules
This investigation assesses TikTok’s response to reported content and accounts potentially involving illegal child sexual abuse material as well as other violations of its policies. Using the platform’s own reporting tool, we flagged various pieces of content and profiles that breached its terms of service or applicable legislation. Although TikTok agreed with 99% of the reports and removed the content, 96% of the accounts associated with these violations remained active.
