The foundation was selected alongside 35 organisations worldwide, from more than 700 applications across 22 countries, which will also develop artificial intelligence solutions applied to journalism.

The tool to be developed by the foundation will use technologies that enable the rapid exploration of large volumes of content, the detection of disinformation patterns, the linking of new claims to previous fact checks, and the suggestion of relevant experts and optimal response formats.

In this way, the Maldita.es journalism team will be able to provide a faster and more effective response to the public in the face of the spread of false information. The project is part of the foundation’s commitment to innovation, international collaboration and the strengthening of rigorous, independent journalism adapted to the challenges of today’s digital environment in the fight against disinformation.
