Research partnership with Democracy Reporting International (DRI) funded by the Mercator Foundation to monitor online discourse during the 2023 Spanish general elections. Maldita.es analyzed political actors' social media activity on Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook, while using its Disinformation Management System to track misinformation on WhatsApp. The project assessed connections between political discourse and public conversation, identifying disinformation trends, narratives and virality patterns to protect electoral integrity.

Community-building project funded through an ECAS sub-grant co-financed by the EU to strengthen advocacy capacities of civil society organisations working against disinformation. Created a shared knowledge platform through monthly newsletters on EU policy processes and advocacy tips, virtual strategizing meetings for coordinated action, and special briefings for urgent policy situations. Engaged over 25 European organisations to participate more effectively in policy-making processes.

EU-funded pilot project led by Maldita.es to create the European Code of Professional Integrity for Independent Fact-Checkers. Consortium of six organisations (AFP, Correctiv, Demagog, Pagella Politica/Facta, EU DisinfoLab) developed professional standards for independence, transparency and methodological quality, along with a governance body to evaluate compliance. The project resulted in the creation of EFCSN (European Fact-Checking Standards Network).

IFCN-supported mentorship programme where Maldita.es trained 5 international fact-checking organizations on advocacy and public policy activities. Five workshop sessions covered defining policy objectives, stakeholder relationships, resource management and sustainability. Resulted in a published guidebook available to other organizations.
