Maldito Feminismo wins an ADPC Award for Good Practices in Non-Sexist Communication for its work against misinformation.

The board of the Associació de Dones Periodistes de Catalunya (ADPC) awards this prize to the Maldito Feminismo section in the category “Good Practices in the Detection of Fake News”, in recognition of its work in the fight against misinformation on gender-related issues. The ADPC will hold the award ceremony on Wednesday, 30 November at 7:00 p.m. at the headquarters of La CIBA (Passeig Llorenç Serra, 64, Santa Coloma de Gramenet).

Maldito Feminismo wins an ADPC Award for Good Practices in Non-Sexist Communication for its work against misinformation.

In 2022, the Non-Sexist Communication Awards include 8 categories that recognise women who contribute from fields such as photojournalism, radio, cinema, among other disciplines. At this event, the Non-Sexist Communication Awards and the Margarita Rivière Award will be presented, as well as “Tocs d’atenció”, a call of attention to media outlets that, in the jury’s view, do not contribute to gender equality, and “Reconeixements” granted to feminist organisations with a long trajectory.

NON-SEXIST COMMUNICATION AWARDS 2022:

  • Good Practices in Photojournalism Award to Ana Valiño, documentary photographer and visual storyteller
  • Good Practices in Radio Award to Rosa Badía, journalist and radio host at Radio Barcelona
  • Good Practices in Film Criticism with a Feminist Perspective Award to Imma Merino, journalist and film critic
  • Good Practices in the Inclusive Treatment of Data Award to OPEN DATA Barcelona by Lourdes Muñoz, founder of Iniciativa Barcelona Open Data, the platform Sheleader.eu and the Associació Dones en Xarxa
  • Good Practices in Human Rights and Feminist Reporting Award to Patricia Simón, journalist and writer specialising in international relations and human rights
  • Good Practices in Paving the Way as a Pioneer in the Radio World Award to Maribel Álvarez, writer and pioneering radio host who worked at Ràdio Joventut in Barcelona
  • Good Practices in the Detection of Fake News Award to the Maldito Feminismo section of Maldita.es. Ana Gómez, journalist and newsroom coordinator at Maldita.es, will collect the award on behalf of the outlet
  • Professional Career Award to María Dolores Masana, journalist who worked at La Vanguardia between 1972 and 2003 and honorary president of Reporters Without Borders since 2019

Margarita Rivière Award 2022 to Almudena Ariza, journalist and correspondent at RTVE

ADPC is a Catalan professional association that brings together women working in the media, with the aim of improving the professional situation of women journalists.
