Fundación Maldita.es expands its project to tackle disinformation about agriculture, food, and rural areas

In this new phase, under the name Maldita Agricultura 2.0: Continuing to Promote Reliable Information about the CAP to Young Spanish Urbanites (Maldita Agricultura 2.0: We Continue to Promote Reliable Information about the CAP for Young Spanish Urbanites), the aim is to bring young people closer, through explanatory articles, fact checks and in-depth reports on disinformation narratives, to the reality of the agricultural sector in Spain and Europe, addressing issues related to agriculture as an economic and professional sector; the production, processing, transport and distribution of food; its impact on the environment and efforts to reduce it; transparency in consumer information, the strength of the food sector and efforts to reduce food waste, among other aspects.

These contents will be adapted into different formats to distribute them on social media using language that is closer to young audiences. In addition, educational content will be developed focused on promoting safer and more responsible information consumption.

Who funds this project and how much money does Maldita.es receive to carry it out?

Maldita Agricultura 2.0: Continuing to Promote Reliable Information about the CAP to Young Spanish Urbanites is a project co-funded (60%) by the European Commission through the IMCAP programme (Information Measures Relating to the Common Agricultural Policy) and will receive €90,813.47 over 12 months.
