Maldita.es and ECAS create a newsletter on misinformation and legislation for European civil society organizations

Maldita.es has established a monthly newsletter with the support of the European Citizen Action Service to facilitate the participation of more civil society organisations in legislative processes related to disinformation, a task that typically demands significant resources.

We understand that while legislation may not solve the entire problem, it can help fighting disinformation. From our Public Policy and Institutional Development unit, we liaise with those responsible for shaping these measures to provide them with scientific evidence and knowledge based on our daily work combating disinformation.

What does this project entail?

In this newsletter, we compile the latest updates on legislation related to disinformation, journalism, and freedom of expression; relevant articles and research; and information on disinformation campaigns that we have detected.

Through this exchange of information via email and online meetings, we aim to create a community of European organisations committed to combating disinformation. This will allow us to enhance our coordination and impact, striving to increase the number of civil society organisations involved in decision-making on EU policy development.

If you are part of an organisation that could benefit from the content of this newsletter, please send us an email at [email protected].
