Maldita joins 23 organizations from 16 European countries in pan-European project to study hybrid threats

The EU-HYBNET (Empowering a Pan-European Network to Counter Hybrid Threats) program, led by two Finnish organizations; Laurea University of Applied Sciences and the European Centre of Excellence for Countering Hybrid Threats (Hybrid CoE), brings together 23 organizations from 16 countries to conduct a comprehensive study to help detect, prepare for and counter potential hybrid threats that could affect the countries of the European Union. Over the next 5 years, Maldita.es, together with universities and research centers, will be part of this pan-European research supported by the European Commission.

Maldita.es, the Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC) and the Local Police of Valencia are the only three Spanish organizations that are part of this project, which coordinates 18 investigations, 14 of which are funded by the European Commission.

Within these investigations, Maldita.es is specifically in charge of training activities related to disinformation for the member organizations of the consortium, as well as supporting the Rey Juan Carlos University in its investigations.

The objective of this research is to develop new tools to improve the resilience of society through four main areas: future trends of hybrid threats, cyber and future technologies, civil resilience at the local level and national administration, and strategic information and communication.

This project is financially supported by the H2020 program of the European Commission, which will allocate 3,496,837.50 € to it over the next 5 years, of which Maldita.es will receive a total of 39,562.50 € in the same period.
