Maldita launches a contact email for seniors to ask questions and verify content, in a LatamChequea project led by Chequeado

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic at Maldita.es, we have debunked more than 1,000 lies, false alarms and disinformation about the coronavirus. With the arrival of the vaccine, we have also seen how misinformation has been spread linking it to a multitude of alleged adverse effects.

Therefore, at Maldita.es, we have created the email address [email protected] to provide seniors with different tools to identify false information circulating on social networks or reaching them through WhatsApp.

They will also be able to send us the content they receive, either in the form of audio, text, image or video, so that we can verify it. Once we receive the message, we will reply with verified information on the topic with official and alternative sources or, in any case, we will ask you to wait until we verify it and, once we have it, we will send it to you.

In addition to using this email address, you can also contact us through our WhatsApp chatbot (+34 644 22 93 19), through which you will also receive a summary of the daily denials in text and also in audio.

This initiative is part of the LatamChequea alliance to combat vaccine disinformation with 22 organizations and the support of the Google News Initiative.
