The Craig Newmark School of Journalism at CUNY, Google News Initiative and the News Product Alliance select Maldita.es in their product development program for newsrooms

The two-month program aims to enable media outlets to incorporate product design methodologies into their workflow to become more sustainable and efficient. 

Ana Gómez Parra was selected along with 24 other journalists from Europe, the Middle East and Africa who work in a variety of media, including magazines, newspapers, television and radio. The process will be guided by experts in the media industry and product design. 

The program will support the team’s learning to develop technological products that can help the work of the Maldita.es newsroom in the fight against disinformation.

• Alexandru Enășescu  is editor and founder of Iașul nostru  (Romania).
• Ahmed Esmat  is Product and Digital Transformation Leader at   E3lam (Egypt).
• Catherine Gicheru is director of the African Women Journalism Project (Kenya). 
• Frankie Goodway  is head of production at the Bureau of Investigative Journalism (UK).
• Paul Ilado  is head of production at Radio Africa Group (Kenya). 
• Pius Katunzi is editor-in-chief of The Observer (Uganda). 
• Omar Mostafa is a digital strategist at Al-Fanar Media  (Egypt). 
• Domenico Mussolino is founder and editor-in-chief of  CyberCrimeClues (Italy).
