"War on disinformation", a debate on the government's role in its surveillance with the participation of the Director of Homeland Security

From 11:30 this Friday, November 27, you can follow a live debate on the ministerial order on disinformation approved by the government . A text that has raised enormous controversy by proposing the creation of a government commission on disinformation, which the opposition describes as the «Ministry of Truth.»

We will have the general director of National Security, Miguel Ángel Ballesteros, and also Eduardo Madina, Virginia P. Alonso, José María Blanco Navarro, Elsa González, Ramón Salaverría, José Manuel Pérez Tornero and Carlos Hernández-Echevarría. The discussion will take place in two round tables moderated by Alfonso Armada and Antonio Rubio.

At Maldita.es we have already explained to you why we believe that a government should not decide what is true and what is not and why the fight against disinformation cannot be done by bodies that are not independent of the government , but we are looking forward to hearing from the rest of the speakers. . We organized this debate together with Reporters Without Borders (RSF), the Association of Investigative Journalists (API) and the Platform for Freedom of Information (PDLI).

We are waiting for you on Friday at 11:30 CET, you can follow the live broadcast at this link and send all your questions.
