Maldito Feminismo wins an Award for Good Non-Sexist Communication Practices from the ADPC for its work against disinformation

The board of directors of the Associació de Dones Periodistes de Catalunya (ADPC) presents this award to the Maldito Feminismo section in the category “Good Practices in Detecting Fake News”, for its work in the fight against disinformation on gender issues. The ADPC will hold the award ceremony on Wednesday, November 30th at 7:00 pm at the CIBA headquarters (Paseo Llorenç Serra, 64, Santa Coloma de Gramenet).

This 2022, the Non-Sexist Communication Awards have 8 categories in which women who contribute to the fields of photojournalism, radio, cinema, among other disciplines, are recognized. During this event, the Non-sexist Communication Awards and the Margarita Rivière Award will be presented, as well as the «Tocs d’atenció», as a call for attention to media that, according to their criteria, do not contribute to gender equality, and the «Reconeixements» to long-standing feminist.

NON-SEXIST COMMUNICATION AWARDS 2022:

  • Good Practices in Photojournalism Award to Ana Valiño, documentary photographer and visual narrator.
  • Good Practices in Radio Award to Rosa Badía, journalist and announcer at Radio Barcelona.
  • Award for Good Practices in Film Criticism from a Feminist Perspective to Imma Merino, journalist and film critic.
  • Award for Good Practices in Inclusive Data Processing in OPEN DATA Barcelona to Lourdes Muñoz, founder of the Barcelona Open Data Initiative, the Sheleader.eu platform and the Associació Dones en Xarxa.
  • Award for Good Practices in Reporting on Human Rights and Feminism to Patricia Simón, journalist and writer specialized in International Relations and human rights
  • Good Practices Award in Opening the way as a pioneer in the Radio World to Maribel Álvarez, pioneering writer and radio host who worked at Ràdio Joventut in Barcelona.
  • Award for Good Practices in Detecting Fake News in the Maldito Feminismo section of Maldita.es. Ana Gómez, journalist and editorial coordinator of Maldita.es, will collect the award on behalf of the medium. 
  • Professional Career Award to María Dolores Masana, journalist who worked at La Vanguardia between 1972 and 2003 and honorary president of Reporters Without Borders since 2019

MARGARITA RIVIÈRE AWARD – VIII EDITION:

  • Margarita Rivière Award 2022 to Almudena Ariza, journalist and correspondent at RTVE.

The ADPC is a Catalan professional association that brings together women working in the media, with the aim of improving the professional situation of journalists.
