Maldita.es wins the 2023 Human Rights Lawyer's Award in the 'Media' category

Maldita.es has received the recognition of the General Council of Lawyers in the XXV Human Rights Awards, in the category of Media, for the fight against disinformation.

«Disinformation is a problem that we all suffer from, but for which we are all responsible: citizens, when we try not to pass on the message that reaches us, and also politicians, when they issue certain messages that do not tell the whole story so that citizens can make informed decisions,» said Jiménez Cruz, who explained that the mission of the Maldita.es Foundation to fight disinformation is supported by journalism, technology, innovation, educational projects and political advocacy.

Clara Jiménez Cruz invited the collective of lawyers to participate in the Maldita.es community. Through the Foundation’s Superpowers program, they will be able to share their legal expertise and contribute to the creation of verified content that resolves citizens’ doubts.

Maldita.es received this award together with the Communication Departments of the National Police and the Guardia Civil for their work in preventing cybercrime.
