Maldita.es selected by the International Press Institute (IPI) to participate in its Acceleration Program

Maldita.es will participate in the International Press Institute (IPI) acceleration program in which it will receive funding, courses and training for six months, together with 14 European media outlets, to design and launch new products focused on its audiences.

Maldita.es will work on creating a new community management system that will allow the members of its ‘superpowers’ program to participate more and better in the organization’s programs, as well as gain new knowledge to fight disinformation in multimedia formats.

The program is part of Media Innovation Europe (MIE), a new joint  IPI initiative co-funded by the European Union that empowers newsrooms to achieve editorial independence and financial sustainability.

The selected essays were selected by an independent jury from Spain, Portugal, Norway, Slovakia and Hungary. The initiative is based on research by the International Press Institute and is a first-of-its-kind approach for journalists, editors and media creators from around the world who are rebuilding their local media ecosystems to meet the needs of their audiences and build greater trust in them, as well as to offer the best support for democracy and the best defense against disinformation.
