Maldita Migración wins the APDHE 2021 award in the 'communication and culture' category

Maldita Migración has won the APDHE 2021 award on its 45th anniversary in the ‘Communication and culture’ category for the «work carried out to defend human rights in Spain or abroad.» The Maldita Migración project, born with the support of Oxfam Intermón, wins this recognition for its daily work in the fight against disinformation that exists around the migrant population, refugees or those who belong to a religious minority.

The Association for Human Rights of Spain (APDHE), founded in 1976, is the first entity aimed at the defense and promotion of human rights in the history of Spain. This organization annually recognizes the work of others who, like APDHE itself, fight to defend Human Rights.

Among those awarded by APDHE in this edition are also in the international category Vilma Núñez de Escorcia, President of the Nicaraguan Center for Human Rights, and Sultana Jaya, activist for Human Rights in Western Sahara. In the national category, Agustín Rodríguez Teso, a priest who helps vulnerable people, and as an honorary award, Carlos Jiménez Villarejo, jurist and former anti-corruption prosecutor.
