Maldita.es will fight election disinformation by creating educational content on TikTok

At Maldita.es we know that the campaign for the general elections on July 23rd will also take place on TikTok, where parties will try to attract voters. Along with their messages and other informative content, disinformation will also circulate.

What is our collaboration?

In order to counter election disinformation, TikTok is providing the community with an Election Information Center where users can access reliable information and resources. This information center also includes a search center for election-related videos, access to official information from the Central Electoral Board, and content developed by Maldita to help inform users about the electoral process. In this way, when searching for terms related to the elections, parties and candidates, users will be able to access a screen with official information about the electoral process and consult content based on data and contrasting facts about electoral issues.

In addition, Maldita.es has developed specific videos in TikTok to explain some common doubts and recurring misinformation about the elections, such as the counting system or absentee voting.

Maldita.es will collaborate with TikTok throughout 2023 by creating content on how to identify and disprove disinformation

At Maldita.es we know that the community is essential to avoid being tricked and that only with tools and education we can defend ourselves from hoaxes. That’s why throughout 2023 we will develop content in TikTok to promote awareness and the citizens’ fight against hoaxes and false narratives.
