Maldita.es in partnership with the global nonprofit organization Internews, will train 60 journalists in Bolivia to provide them with tools in the fight against disinformation.
As part of an Internews program on disinformation in collaboration with researchers from Harvard University, Columbia University in the United States, and the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM) along with Maldita.es, 60 journalists with a digital presence in Bolivia have been selected to be part of an innovative program to combat disinformation in the country.
The team of journalists and teachers from Maldita.es will deliver three online sessions to the 60 journalists over the course of a month, in which they will learn about the basic concepts of disinformation, receive training on tools to identify and verify information, and can learn about our innovative formats for disseminating information.
In addition to the training, Internews will provide a scholarship to all participating journalists for the creation of journalistic content. Harvard University, Columbia University, and ITAM will be responsible for carrying out an innovative evaluation process to measure the impact of this training on their journalistic work.
These trainings, coordinated by the Maldita Educa project, are part of Maldita.es’s efforts to combat disinformation with education and tools accessible to the entire population. This is the second time that Maldita.es participates in journalist training activities in Bolivia.
