Last placements for the Master in journalistic investigation, new narratives, data, fact-checking and transparency from Maldita and the URJC

The Master in Journalistic Research, New Narratives, Data, Fact-Checking and Transparency of Maldita.es Foundation and the Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC) has the registration period open for the second edition.

We are launching a new edition of this master’s degree with the aim of training competitive professionals in new journalistic narratives and in the innovation of digital information formats and products; a present in which to bet on journalism as a public service for citizens.

Our program seeks excellence in the use of research techniques, data verification and transparency and to train professionals for a new present where, as a society and as journalists, we face new challenges: the fight against misinformation and the need for a public service journalism that does not remain on the surface and that investigates and tells the reality to citizens with data.

In this edition we have financial aid for registration. Up to 50% of the tuition and a provision for students from Latin America. Pre-register as soon as possible. PLACEMENT LIMITED.

By taking this Master’s degree you will achieve: 

  • Learn about trend analysis and data visualization tools, you will develop practical work in which you build informative pieces applying the methodologies of the journalistic investigation process and fact-checking.
  • Specialize in socially responsible journalism that contributes to the construction of an informed society.
  • Identify the diversity of technical and technological solutions applicable to the development of data-based communication products.
  • Carry out practical work and case analysis in which you will learn to present transparency requests to national and international public organizations.
  • Deepen media literacy and technological tools to create a safer digital ecosystem without hoaxes or misinformation.
  • Gain experience in digital storytelling, with the creation of new interactive informative narratives and audiovisual technologies to tell stories. In short, prepare yourself and have the necessary tools to face your job with guarantees in the future.

The Master also includes mandatory paid internships in media such as elDiario.es, Servimedia, Prodigioso Volcán, Podimo, The Facto Productions and Maldita.es, among others, which will allow you to learn surrounded by innovative professionals and project your professional future.
