Maldita.es participates in Climate Facts Europe project in which several countries will collaborate to detect and fight climate disinformation
Maldita.es Foundation participates in the Climate Facts Europe project , of the European Fact-Checking Standards Network (EFCSN) , together with other European verification organizations that are part of the network. The goal of the initiative is to promote collaboration between countries to detect and combat climate misinformation, while promoting access to verified climate information.
The project will include the development and testing of the platform and shared database of fact-checks and articles from the participating organizations . It is a tool based on Artificial Intelligence that will allow citizens to access verified content on facts related to climate disinformation. In addition, the project will also establish an alert system on viral campaigns and cross-border climate disinformation narratives.
What will Maldita.es do ?
Maldita.es will contribute by feeding the database repository with updated content related to climate misinformation. Furthermore, it will prepare one of the four project reports, together with Pagella Política/FACTA (Italy) and Elinika Hoaxes (Greece), using the data available in the joint database.
Who is part of the Climate Facts Europe consortium?
The Climate Facts Europe consortium is made up of 24 organizations that are part of the EFCSN and that make verifications and other climate content.
Who finances the project?
The EFCSN will be responsible for financing each of the organizations that are part of this project.
