Maldita.es and Oxfam Intermón have launched the Frena.Verifica.Comparte campaign to fight disinformation about migrants through advertising placed inside and outside more than 49 buses in Madrid, Barcelona, Zaragoza and Seville.
The goal of this campaign, which also has the support of the organizations Mundo en Movimiento and the Asociación de Trabajadoras del Hogar y Cuidados de Zaragoza, is to encourage people to visit the website frenaverifica.maldita.es to get tools that help them identify disinformation and hate speech targeting migrants.
All the ads also include a QR code so that citizens can use the Maldita.es WhatsApp chatbot if they suspect that any content may contain disinformation. Through it, they will receive automated replies, daily fact-check summaries and media literacy content.
With this campaign, which will run for between 15 days and one month depending on the city, the organizers expect to reach more than one million people who use public transport in these cities.
The posters are installed on the following routes:
Madrid: bus lines C1, C2, 361, 263, 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 9, 14, 19, 23, 32, 24, 27, 27, 45, 49, 68, 69, 85 and 132.
Barcelona: bus line between Plaça de Catalunya and the Airport, H12, D20, 27, 47, 54 and 59.

Seville: bus lines A1, A3, A4, A8, 1, C1, C3, 5, 21, 22, 24, 27, 28, 29, 32 and 52.
