Maldita Migración wins the APDHE 2021 Award in the “Comunicación y Cultura” category

The Maldita Migración project, created with the support of Oxfam Intermón, receives this recognition for its daily work in the fight against disinformation surrounding migrant populations, refugees, and people belonging to religious minorities.

The Asociación Pro Derechos Humanos de España (APDHE), founded in 1976, is the first organisation in the history of Spain dedicated to the defence and promotion of human rights. Each year, this organisation recognises the work of others who, like APDHE itself, strive to defend Human Rights.

Among the recipients recognised by APDHE in this edition are, in the international category, Vilma Núñez de Escorcia, President of the Centro Nicaragüense de Derechos Humanos, and Sultana Jaya, a human rights activist in Western Sahara. In the national category, the award went to Agustín Rodríguez Teso, a priest who supports vulnerable people, and the honorary award was given to Carlos Jiménez Villarejo, jurist and former anti-corruption prosecutor.
