During the performance, attendees actively engaged with the characters and highlighted that, in an entertaining and humorous way, they received useful advice on how to protect themselves from the disinformation they are exposed to. They also had the opportunity to put these tips into practice after the show through the “Truth or Hoax” quiz.

The performance of Don’t Let Them Fool You marked the closing of the 2023 courses of Orange’s of Orange's "Mayores conectados" program, in which several organizations participate and which aims to improve the digital skills of people over the age of 65. The Maldita.es Foundation collaborated in this program by delivering Digital Empowerment workshops in six stores across Madrid, A Coruña, and Valladolid throughout the year.
Through these training sessions, seniors gained tools and resources to identify and verify potential hoaxes on their own, as well as recommendations for a safer, manipulation-free digital life.
In addition, media literacy specialists developed educational materials such as this video for the Orange Spain YouTube channel, offering key tips to protect ourselves from hoaxes.
Training for all audiences
The training on disinformation is complemented by the online course “Can I Trust It? How to Identify Disinformation in the Digital World,” designed for the Orange Digital Center by Fundación Orange. A completely free course with four modules designed to recognize disinformation, strengthen critical thinking, verify information using simple tools, and avoid the scams that reach our mobile phones.
