Maldita.es Foundation is looking for an intern to join Maldito Bulo, the team that works every day to detect and debunk hoaxes and disinformation across all topics.
If you are passionate about current affairs and fact-checking and want to learn how disinformation is fought on the front lines, this is your chance to train within a pioneering verification team and contribute to the fight against disinformation. During your internship, you will learn fact-checking and verification techniques and take part — always with guidance and supervision — in producing debunks, explainers, and investigations in different formats and for different platforms.

- Support the writing of debunks, explainers, and investigations.
- Explore new narratives and formats to combat disinformation.
- Collaborate on projects with the broader Maldita.es team.
- Adapt journalistic content for social media and digital platforms.
Essential Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Journalism, Communications, or Audiovisual Communication (an academic internship agreement with your university must be possible).
- Based in Madrid, Spain.
- Sufficient level of English to participate in training sessions and work conversations.
- Interest in current affairs and social media trends.
- Strong writing skills and attention to detail.
Nice to Have
- Basic knowledge of online research and OSINT tools.
- Interest in innovative storytelling and technology applied to journalism.
- Eagerness to learn, contribute ideas, and work as part of a team.
